Ivan Hovorun is forging a reputation as one of the most acutely perceptive and insightfully intelligent musicians of our time.  Join us for an afternoon of musical brilliance, where Ivan will play a programme, featuring works by Rameau, Couperin, Mozart, Chopin and Rachmaninov.  This performance promises a delightful variety, delivered by a superb pianist.

Sebastian Mueller (Professor at the Vienna Conservatoire) and Lynette Stulting (Head of Instrumental Studies at Abingdon School) return to St Giles’ Church with a compelling all-German programme.The recital features Johannes Brahms’s Violin Sonata No. 3 in D minor, alongside the Adagio and Scherzo from the F-A-E Sonata — a collaborative work by Brahms, Robert Schumann and Albert Dietrich. The programme also includes Robert Schumann’s Violin Sonata No. 1 and the expressive Romances by Clara Schumann.

The Torriano Ensemble is a group of professional musicians whose members have worked freelance with many of London’s leading orchestras. They have been giving concerts around the UK since the group was founded in 1986. The specialise in performing lesser known chamber music pieces for wind, strings and piano alongside the great classics of the genre, and their lively and varied programmes have been much enjoyed by audiences over the years. Three of its founder members are performing in this concert of music for clarinet, cello and piano.
